DV9000 DV6000 . COM The HP / Compaq Pavilion DV6000 and DV9000 are one of the most notorious systems to have power issues.  We are dedicating this web site specifically to owners of DV6000 and DV9000 series laptops who were unfortunate enough to own one of these models.   On this web site we try to explain what the problems are and what are some of the solutions.

1) The most common problem for this laptop is for the Laptop Charger to go bad.  Basically the laptop won't accept the power from the power adapter because you had to wiggle/ giggle / jiggle the plug (tip portion of your power cord / charger cord) around to make the system power up.   The problem is not so much with the charger but with the tip portion of the charger called the plug.   You could replace the plug on the charger or you could buy a brand new charger.

2) Second common problem with these laptops is the charging port / jack / connector / socket / receptacle / input on the laptop itself breaks down due to too much stress caused by the plug / tip of your adapter.

3) Third most common problem is the laptop just died all of the sudden for no reason, there are no lights of any sort anywhere.   Also the light near the jack (near the power input) is no longer blue, furthermore if your power adapter has a light on it the light should go out (or keep blinking) once you insert the plug into the laptop.  That is called a short on the motherboard.  We are the only company (that we are aware of) that has a 50/50% chance of finding where the short is at and usually after removing the short the system should work.   We usually deal with shortages at the end of the week / weekends because they take forever to find and chances are not that great that it will be fixed.   The total is $115 if it works plus $10 (to cover return shipping), if we would not be able to make it work then there is no charge, you just pay the return shipping of $10 or enclose a prepaid shipping label.  For more information regarding shortages please visit: http://www.powerjackrepair.org/blinkinglaptopadapter.html
